I'm thinking about getting on with USA Truck based in Arkansas. This is the deal I'm being offered:

I live in North Carolina
I drive to Ft. Worth TX to attend C1 truck school, where I will be put up in a motel/hotel for three weeks, but no pay.
3 weeks later, I get my CDL.
About a week after that, I'm back in North Carolina, where I'm to be paired up with an experienced driver for 4 to 6 weeks and get paid $350 a week.
Once that is over, I'm on the road by myself at 25 cpm.
Does anyone know about these guys? Does this sound like a good deal?

I am considering the career change too. After reading a lot of posts and checking out several of the other big companies, the deal sounds a little lean. Other carriers are offering $450/week during training and starting at 31-32cpm.

Yes, I thought it was low-paying too. Does anyone know of any outfit with a better deal? I'm looking for someone that will pay for CDL training.
