TMC or Mavrick Transportation LLC

Gang,

I'm currently in my last week of CDL Class A Training. I have pre-hires from both Mavrick and TMC. I actually have a date set for orientation at TMC for 11/1/08 and their is a waiting list for Mavrick. Can you guys give me your feelings on these companies? If DETROIT MUSCLE is out there are you still TMC? Your last comments date back to 10/07. My heart is leaning towards TMC but Mavrick is a straight up solid company. I guess this is all a good problem to have as long as I pass my 3rd Party Examination. It's scheduled for 10/31/08 on Holloween.YIPPIE!

Welcome aboard. TMC is going to offer you a little more adversity as Maverick is more of a specialized glass hauler. I would suggest TMC but that's my .02

Thanks PeteNasty!

I seen some of your other Blogs so I appreciate your advice. My 3rd Party Examination got pushed to 11/7 so I hope all goes well. My 90 Degree alley docks were a little rough but I think I've got it down. I just want this to be over so I can move on. I never thought the process would be so nerve wracking! I'll let you know how it goes. My instructors said that this is probably the best time of the year to go through training. Once I start driving with the Driver Instructor for the 3-8 weeks it will be at the start of some rough weather. I will be able to get instruction from a veteran instead of experiencing it on my own. Talk to you soon!

I got my CDL Class A on Friday 11/7 as planned. I hit my 90 Degree Alley dock perfectly and played it safe and stayed off the back cone and took a point. I actually could have took out the Right Hand Turn cone and still passed the yard skills but I ended up with a few points there. I wanted to play it conservitavely. Road test was fine with just a few points.

Looks like I'm TMC bound so I hope all goes well. Mavrick is a really nice company but they put a hold on Regional Student Recruits coming in until after the 1st of the year. I'm on a waiting list for the Specialized Glass Division which is OTR. I need Regional right now so I told them to keep me on the list in case I change my mind. The Glass Hauling Division is good pay though. Rock on Dudes!

can't say about maverick, but try to stay as far as you can away from TMC, dollars to the bosses the only thing they worry about

I have heard the same thing about TMC...... VERY MICRO MANAGED! I know you have to use their company issued Cb, and they only give a damn about the $$$$$$$! So the driver takes the back seat. Don't let the governed big hoods fool you! Governing a big pete is like putting mudflaps on a Yugo! OPEN UP THOSE LARGE CARS, UNLEASH THOSE BIG CATS! LET IT ALLLLLLLLLL HANG OUT!

what i dont understand with a few of these companies like Maverick is that why do i have to pay Maverick for additional training ?? i just graduated less then 30 days ago and passed everything on the first go around and you want me to pay for additional training to work for Maverick ?? I dont think so what are you trying to create the DOUBLE CLASS A ?? mavericks not all that anyway.
