Conway is a good company. My uncle has been with CCX,Conway central for about 15 yrs. He started out as a casual, which means he worked maybe a day or two a week. After about a year he was a regular driver. After a few yrs. of that he went into the safety department. Earlier this year he was promoted to terminal manager. I know Conway is a good company and good money.

Conway is the reincarnation of the old CF or "Consolidated Freight". One of the things about them is it takes alot to become a line haul driver for them. Their drivers have to work the dock, then drive, then work the dock again, drive back to the terminal and work the dock. I guess if you like to mix dock work with your driving, they may pay enough to make it worth your while...but they are what management at CF came up with to bust the union and have a completely new company with different opitions....and even the terminals that are unionized have a much lower rate contract than they did at CF.

oh cmon, u think this place is all that good???? wow. u need to talk to the abused conway people of the south... they r used people to the max!!! we r the only ones that have to work 70hrs. for this company, go figure that out. i sure cant!!! what miss managment of what use to be a great company to work for, it still is to a certain degree, if they would get it all on the same scale!!!! we just took a pay decrease of 3000.00 a year because of crazy decesions from god knows who... :x

I worked there back in '95 in the south and can honestly say they treated their employees like crap. I know their linehaul drivers run long hub turns at night and have to work freight while at the hub. overall a cdl at conway means certified dock laborer.

Yes, Con way is a good place to work, and yes, you DO have to work on the dock. BUT- who of us couldn't stand a little exercise? I , like most truckers over 40 have worked a variety of jobs in the transportation industry, Including YFS. I can honestly say that although this job maybe not as good as it once was, what IS with all the corporate downsizing and bad economy? There IS a light at the end of the tunnel, and for once (for me,anyway) it's NOT a freight train! There are a variety of things you can do here, and if you follow the rules, do your job and put in your time you will have a great job that pays well. Who else do YOU know that will pay the difference in your pay at your job and your pay in the Military WHILE you are deployed overseas? Conway does, and that says alot to me about integrity! This is a CRAPY place to work. I was hired in July 2008 and they put me on flex linehaul. That means I got 6-8 hours on the dock and drive truck for 4.5 hours a night. The only break I got was when I went to the bathroom. Then some nights they would leave you home after I had slept all day. Or, bring you in to work the dock for 4 hours then send you home. conway uses you like a dirty dish rag and then throws you away.I was terminated on December 5, 2008 along with 1800 others. They called me back in April of 2009 for city work.( which I did for Alvan Motor Freight for 13.5 years before they shut their doors) But, I decided to stay at my foodservice delivery job which I just landed 2 weeks earlier. I would rather run groceries down a ramp and be left alone than to work for Conway who treats a person like a piece of crap!!!!!! CONWAY.........YOU........ SUUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
