Trucking Companies : Baylor Trucking Milan Indiana

Baylor Trucking Milan Indiana

I should start by saying that this is my opinion and should not be concieved as fact. Only an opinion based on my own personal experience.

Ok, I will start by saying that Baylor Trucking is not a trucking company for a man to get ahead at. They want their drivers to be 2200 mile a week sidewalk sissys. They have a Safety Director with no former experience in the Trucking industry. If you consider running a school bus company like Laidlaw a prereq to run a trucking safety dept. you are as delusional as I consider him to be. Now everyone knows service to the customer is priority one right? Lets say you deliver at 6 am in Harrisburg PA after arriving the night before at 8 pm. So your duty day starts at 6 am. Now lets say dispatch sends you a load from the Nazi stronghold in Milan thats a 475 mile load to Seymour Indiana that picks up in Carlisle at 2 pm and delivers at 7 am the next day. Well if your a normal truck driver you pick it up at 2 pm with 6 hours left on your "14" right. Then you just punch that load through the 8 hours to Seymour......... Nope not at Baylor. At Baylor the bald, fat man who thinks he knows the trucking industry from reading the FMCSA green book cover to cover says stop in Jeffersonville OH 2 hours from your destination because you run out of hours after 8 pm. Service? Customer needs? Whatever does that mean?! If you run it through your crucified by safety with no backing from operations. Keep in mind I run a little buck wild.... Say 3800 to 4350 a week on average, but I know alot of good guys that get lashed on by this wannabe DOT cop Richard in safety still today. Richard, if your reading this...... the IHP doesn't hire obese turds like you. Also you DON'T HAVE A BADGE. Do your job and make sure people are not drinking and driving in Baylor equipment. Oh wait 2 DWI's have occured on your watch! Meanwhile your crucifying the working man who is making service to the customers that pay our salaries priority #1!
Here are a few other faults of Baylor Trucking.
1. They claim to pay by PC miler, but they use short trip thereby stealing in upwards of 10 to 12% off the actual miles driven. I could live with 3 to 5% from Rand McNally sooner than this crookery.
2. The equipment is lack luster for the most part. 75% of their fleet are midroof columbias with Mercedes engines 3 or more years old (BIG HORSEPOWER RIGHT?). Although they do have a few 387's
3. They push their lease purchase program which is just a front to give nieve drivers a false feeling of ownership on equipment they want far to much for. For instance an 05 Volvo 300 thousand miles currently markets for 28500 to 33000 depending on the set up. Baylor price to a friend of mine.......... 54000! LOL whats more ludicrous paying it or fleecing the poor bastard who bought it? Oh yea 10 interest and 1500 down.... LOL AGAIN
4. Hometime? expect 24 hours every 12 days. I actually saw the house for 24 hours once in 23 days. Of course I ran 16000 miles while I was gone, but family is not as important as they claim it to be at Baylor.

NOW 5. A bright spot is Jim Garrett. He is the only man worth a damn at Baylor. Tom Kinnard had me fooled till he dumped his best driver onto another dispatcher cause the heat in safety got to him. Jimmy Garrett has been there years, and will treat you awesome if your a worker, but not even Jimmy can halt the Stalin like tactics of the village idiot Richard. Now I hear from friends electronic logs will be in all trucks by 2011........ Ben Hammond, John Isom, Mark, Richard, and the rest of the goons at Baylor will sink Bob Baylors ship soon. Screw it though he has his cash right? He has all but walked away I hear................ Hey Ben I wish you would have locked your brakes on 65 that day. I would not have stopped.

Oh yea, they take pride in trying to keep a guy from moving on in his career by dumping on his DAC....... BUT GUESS WHAT RICHARD! I AM STILLLLLLLLLLLLTRUCKIN!

FUCK THE FMCSA, and most of all FUCK BAYLOR TRUCKING!!!!!!!
