Peace truckers!
I am desperately seeking a ride from North/central VT to Richmond KY by 11-15!
I normally travel in a 3/4 ton diesel hauling a camper... I travel alone and found that Truckers are wonderful, and watch over me in the stops when I ask, so I can sleep and feel safe.
I travel a lot helping young women on the road learn how to stay safe, I volunteer at colleges and high school women's programs... I've picked up teenagers and drove them half cross country to a safe place... but this trip, I have to leave my truck and home here in Vermont.
I had to leave my car in Kentucky to come back to Vermont with my truck and home to aid my mom who had lost her sight from Diabetes... (5 months and 2 surgeries later, mom can see, But now it's time for me to fly)
I've always hung with truckers on the road... random wonderful people... one guy let me follow him through a tornado in Kansas, his draft kept that storm from picking up my tinfoil Toyota and sending it (with me in it) to Oz! (If you are here, Drop a note!!! When we got to the stop, I ran over to your pump and hugged you.)
I've always been respectful on the road... I learned the signals quick (flashing lights, safe to move back in, tap the breaks, thank you...) I will even clear the way if the trucker in front of me blinks, I'll stop the idiot behind from costing you your momentum by moving over and giving you space to get over...
So... I am asking for yet another favor folks... please, save me from hitchhiking... tho most likely a trucker would pick me up, I'd like to bring more than a hiker can carry, and honestly, at my age, the idea of hiking is terrifying! I have a backpack, a couple small bags, a drum and a bucket of tools... I do renovation/construction when I am not making enough money on art... gotta have tools on the road!
I can tell funny stories the whole way... or shut up and watch the scenery if you would rather.
Drop me an email, or post here if you can help... or if you have any ideas!
Love and Light,
A
